The All-New Torres x The Keji Concept

The arrival of the all-new 2025 KGM SsangYong Torres has generated considerable excitement since Drive.com.au broke the news that the Torres will land in Australia in September 2024, with sales starting from 1 October 2024 at KGM SsangYong dealerships nationwide.

The Torres stands out as a full-sized medium SUV in its class and boasts an impressive amount of space, not just for cargo but for its occupants as well.

But just how much cargo space does the all-new 2025 KGM SsangYong Torres offer?

To illustrate this in a reliable way, the team at KGM SsangYong got creative. Instead of relying on conventional measurements, they suggested using an everyday item to demonstrate the boot space. This gave birth to the 'Keji Concept', named after the Keji Standard Archive Box, a product developed and sold by Officeworks, and made here in Australia.

We reached out to Officeworks to get the OK to use their archive boxes as our unit of measurement, and soon after, we embarked on a fun challenge to measure, just how many Keji boxes the Torres and its relatives in the KGM SsangYong range of SUV’s could pack-in.

In a playful yet practical comparison, we loaded Keji Standard Archive boxes into three of our SUVs: The KGM SsangYong line-up included the Korando, Rexton and of course the new kid on the block the Torres. The challenge was simple: with all seats in the upright position and no obstructed rear view, we would see how many boxes could fit while ensuring the boot lid closed properly.

The KGM SsangYong Torres was actually able to ‘Pack More In’, but we had to agree on a number which came to a huge 12 x Keji Standard Size Archive Boxes!

The results were impressive...

Coming in at a respectable 3rd place, was the Korando. Also, not forgetting the Korando is the most compact of the three SUV’s, so this wasn’t a surprise. We packed 6 x Keji Standard Size Archive Boxes into the cargo area with ease. However, where the Korando may have a smaller cargo space, it makes up for it in comfort and space for its occupants and a long list of features, where it is true to say there is no compromise.

First place was obviously the Rexton, because it’s our large 7 seater SUV. The jury was out with this one though, as in some instances you could see quite a few boxes when you looked though the rear vision mirror. So we settled on a massive - 16 x Keji Standard Size Archive Boxes. Who needs a separate storage container when you’ve got a Rexton in your garage, you could host a party in the boot space of the Rexton.

Lastly the Torres, which came in at a top rating 2nd place for cargo space, but was a pretty close contender to the Rexton’s first class cargo capacity. The Torres was actually able to ‘ Pack More In’, but we had to agree on a number which came to a huge 12 x Keji Standard Size Archive Boxes! For its size this was truly amazing. It’s also important to note the Torres takes advantage of the Korando’s chassis and drive train, so it’s footprint is pretty similar to the Korando, but utilises a completely different cabin and cargo area, unique to the Torres.
